Peaches, my 1990 Georgia SSP, came into my life in 2019 when Matt from Fox Mustang Restoration and I bought her—along with four other Foxes—from a man in Homer, GA. Of the five, Peaches was in the best shape and originally marked to be the first sold. Matt got her running well, and I drove her for a few weeks. But as I was cleaning her up, I got that unmistakable feeling—that “one that got away” moment—before she ever left. I decided she wasn’t going anywhere. Peaches was mine.

She became my daily driver, and I loved her exactly as she was.

And then, something magical happened.

John Brooks from Five0 Asylum approached me with news that stopped me in my tracks. He told me that Carl Melendez and Vinnie Allegretta—two respected names in the Fox-Body community—wanted to rebuild Peaches for me, as a gift. I hadn’t asked. They simply offered, out of kindness, generosity, and love for the platform.

I was speechless. Honestly, I cried.

This wasn’t just about a car. It was about connection, about community, and the way this shared passion brings out the best in people.

Vinnie and Carl met at Foxtoberfest in 2022, and it was there that their bond was solidified. With their combined knowledge and experience, they were the perfect team to take on such a project. And so began Project Peaches.

This wasn’t just a car restoration; it became a community-driven project. It was supported by sponsors, friends, and fellow Fox enthusiasts who all came together to make sure Peaches was rebuilt to her full potential. Every step of the rebuild was about more than just the mechanics—it was about ensuring that Peaches was a car built with love, passion, and dedication.

The community’s support and hard work culminated in a grand reveal at Foxtoberfest 2024 presented by Kenneth Sean and Lauren Stoney. When Peaches finally hit the show field, she wasn’t just a car on display. She was a symbol of what happens when people come together with a shared passion and a common goal.

This rebuild is about the friendships and connections that were forged along the way. It’s about a community’s shared love for the Fox-Body and how that bond can create something truly remarkable.

As Peaches now stands, proudly restored, she represents more than just a car—she’s a legacy. She’s a story of friendship, generosity, and the power of the Mustang community. And as her journey continues, so does the story of everyone who helped bring her back to life.

This rebuild has truly changed my life, the way I see the world, and how I experience this community and culture. I now get to have the show experience from the other side of the fence and I have to say, the grass is very green.
